Roberta Vinci (victorious)

Are you surprised from the women final at the WTA, US Open 2015? Who ever imagined that on the final stage, there will be two brave Italian tennis players? How many bets on Serena Williams to be the outright winner are already lost? There many, many questions , who left behind (same happened with S. Halep on the semi-final). The truth is  that the beauty in women tennis won.

I had the chance to watch both semi-finals games. Favorites are out, #1 and #2 in the rankings will not play at the last level. Rough , hard and mannish tennis is out from the final. Both Italian players , made games to remember with incredible plays. They remind me on the romantic time of women tennis : Monika Selesh and Steffi Graff when were participating in the tournaments.

Actually this post is about Vinci, about ” her majesty ” Roberta 🙂 It was 1-1 in sets result, and she was losing the third one with 0-2 in games result, no one did believe she was capable to make miracle, to beat the world #1 and not only the best in the world, Serena was supported by every single fan in New York on the stadium. It was a battle of a women elegance , against powerful, arrogant and too damned trained machine ( forgive me if you have seen anything women like in these last games of the 3rd set). Serena was shouting and provoking her opponent. Here comes the time to say big ” bravo” for Vinci, who stayed calm, relaxed and determined. She was even smiling and not believing, how a woman can behave that bad with another woman, it is just a game it is not a matter of war or last woman standing on the court.

At the end, Vinci won with her spirit, her faith and her morality. She was a woman form the beginning till the end of the game. Money does not matter, she gained many fans all around the globe. As a fan , I have advice to Serena Williams – sport is for the fans and for the beauty of the plays, it is not a game or scene to humiliate your opponents. Opponent has to be respected. Respect and hats down for Roberta, Roberta Vinci.
